I have always had a great relationship with my parents.
I have always been a daddy’s girl as I’m the oldest of three and the only girl. My dad wasn’t a very educated man but he was a very wise man. He taught us survival skills and insisted that we all achieve higher education. He was an amazing provider. He died at the young age of 62 and at his funeral the only thing one if my brothers requested was the song, WIND BENEATH MY WINGS.
That described our daddy.
My mom is the most beautiful soul I have ever known. She was a hard worker and instilled an amazing work ethic in all of us. She kept an immaculate home and was a strict disciplinarian who ruled with love. She also insisted on us achieving higher education and assured us we could be anything we wanted. She’s been an amazing caretaker for me as she is always there to nurse me back to health. She helped me tremendously with my daughter while I was pursuing my career. Now she’s right there helping with my grand kids. I’m a very blessed woman to have been chosen by God to experience the love these two people have given. When I feel like giving up I think about how much they sacrificed for us and that gives me the fuel I need to reach another level.
