It’s amazing that when we are growing up that so many times we don’t see the value of the lessons we are learning from our parents.

I am the oldest of four and so often thought my parents were being too hard on me.  Today, I know that they saw a resilience in me, they saw a leader and they simply trusted me.

My mother an anointed woman taught me the power of faith, she taught me to envision and boldly go for a goal.  We often fought and today I realize it was because we are so much alike.  She has transitioned to her eternal rest and in losing her I am finding a part of me that is so much like her.   She left her spiritual mark on my life and for that I am blessed.

My father, a self-confirmed work-a-holic, taught me the importance of working and personal accountability.  I learned from him that my word is my bond; because even when you don’t have money if you have an impeccable word you can still have access to resources.

My parents provided a solid foundation.
